Engl. 112 Schizophrenia Research

Today I searched schizophrenia on google.com. My keyword was just schizophrenia. This search had over 10 million hits, therefore I'm definitly going to have to narrow my search down with this topic. The relevance of this search was probably a 2.5, not good, not bad. I hope to use schizohrenia in my paper by detailing people who have had this illness and killed because of what they thought was reality.

From the Find Articles link I searched, Why serial killers kill? I found an article that refered me to a book called The Murder Next Door: Why The Mind Is Designed To Kill, by David M. Buss, Penguin Press HC, 2005.

Today I searched Serial Killers just at the library, at Mesa I found 8 references of books. On prospector I found 241 books matching serial killers. When I limited my search to serial killers psychologically my search was reduced to 21 books.

Just from looking at the prospector online I found a lot of books that I plan on checking out.

These are just a few to start, I don't have any more info on the books themselves because I researched the books off of prospector and chose to have them e-mailed to me, and the list wasn't as detailed as I had hoped.

Responses that I recieved from others varied from how I shouldn't want to write about serial killers to what kind of serial killers I plan to write about. Famous or not, male or female. As I decided before I plan to write not about a certian serial killer, but numerous ones, not specifically famous or not famous, male or female. I will write about the ones that most fit my report and have been most likely previously been studied to help determine their motivation of their killings.

With this search I learned different words that I can use when searching about serial killers, or on a more specific area regarding serial killers. By defining serial killer it resulted in many different words that can be searched. As well as wording for crimes that the serial killer have committed. By learning the different synonymous I can now narrow my search results.

Engl. 112 Exploration

When researching serial killers in general, I came across a website, regarding a possible connection between a serial killer and if they had been adopted. With this information it can help be answer my main point of why serial killers kill. Could it be the connection of how they grew up being adopted and not knowing their biological parents? This was one possible thought that I had not thought of for my research paper.
